The first program drawn up by CGDRC was in the context of the post-pandemic era, where families in communities were pushed into living in isolation. The proclamation by His Worship Jim Watson, the Mayor of the city of Ottawa spells out “a large vibrant Bengali Community from South Asia”; “contributions made by Bengali immigrants in multidisciplinary fields to help foster growth, prosperity, and innovation throughout Ontario and Canada; and states that “the proclamation is an opportunity to celebrate and educate future generations about the rich Bangla culture that vibrates in many communities across Ontario and Canada”.
